The all-new Li Auto L8 is the second generation of Li Auto's large SUV, launched on 23 June 2026 with deliveries from the same week. At 5,135 mm long on a 3,045 mm wheelbase it remains a full-size car, but this generation deliberately drops the outgoing six-seat layout for five: it is positioned as a flagship five-seat SUV rather than as a smaller six-seat L9, and the cabin is arranged around four full zero-gravity seats.

The powertrain is Li Auto's 5C range-extender system: a 72.7 kWh 5C battery, a third-generation in-house range extender and dual-motor all-wheel drive for 420 kW (563 hp) and 710 Nm, 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and a 200 km/h electronically limited top speed. CLTC electric range is 430 km and combined range 1,670 km on both trims, and the brochure quotes a 10 to 80% charge in 10 minutes at a 5C charger for the Livis.

Two trims. Livis leads: a fully by-wire chassis with 800 V active suspension and electro-mechanical braking, the Mach M100 embodied-AI chip, side and rear solid-state lidar, and 80 GB of driving-computer memory with 384 GB of storage, all as standard. Ultra runs the third-generation dual-chamber Magic Carpet air suspension with electro-hydraulic braking and offers the extra chip, lidar and memory as options. Both carry a 29-inch 6K front display, a 21-inch 4K sliding rear screen, 4,720 W Halo theatre audio and a 10-litre fridge. Available in Slovakia exclusively through RaceIQ.

Five seats, chosen on purpose. 1,670 kilometres.

Highlights

What makes the L8 exceptional.

01

Five Seats, Four of Them Zero-Gravity

This generation gives up the old six-seat layout on purpose. Two full-size zero-gravity seats in front, two side by side behind, with heating, ventilation and 18-point hot-stone massage on all four.

02

1,670 km Combined, 430 km Electric

A 72.7 kWh 5C battery and a third-generation in-house range extender give 430 km on battery and 1,670 km combined, both CLTC, on either trim.

03

420 kW, 4.8 Seconds

Dual-motor all-wheel drive with 420 kW (563 hp) and 710 Nm takes the L8 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, with the top speed electronically limited to 200 km/h.

04

Two Chassis, One Choice

Livis runs a fully by-wire chassis with 800 V active suspension and electro-mechanical braking. Ultra uses the third-generation dual-chamber Magic Carpet air suspension with electro-hydraulic braking. Both steer the rear wheels.

05

Mach M100, 1,280 TOPS

The Mach M100 assisted-driving chip is standard on both trims. Livis adds a second M100 for embodied AI, side and rear solid-state lidar and 80 GB of memory as standard; on Ultra these are options.

06

29-inch 6K Up Front, 21-inch 4K Behind

A 29-inch 6K panoramic front display, a 21-inch 4K sliding rear screen, a projection head-up display and a 4,720 W Halo theatre system with 27 speakers, on both trims.

The Li Auto L8 uses Li Auto's 5C range-extender system: a 72.7 kWh 5C battery charged either by the third-generation in-house range extender or, at a 5C DC charger, from 10 to 80% in 10 minutes on the Livis as published. Dual motors drive all four wheels with 420 kW (563 hp) and 710 Nm. The two trims differ in the chassis: Livis is fully by-wire, with 800 V active suspension, steer-by-wire, rear-wheel steering and electro-mechanical brake-by-wire (EMB); Ultra keeps steer-by-wire and rear-wheel steering with the third-generation dual-chamber dual-valve Magic Carpet air suspension and electro-hydraulic braking (EHB). Driver assistance runs on the Mach M100 chip at 1,280 TOPS with a forward ATL-P lidar, a nine-unit UWB near-field radar array and 360-degree vision; Livis adds a second M100 for embodied AI, two side and one rear solid-state varifocal lidar, 80 GB of memory and 384 GB of storage as standard, where Ultra fits 48 GB and 256 GB with the larger sizes optional. The cabin runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797.
